Live Inference
Five demos. Multi-FPGA prototype. Live.
Our Stellar-1 FPGA prototype plays Doom, flies a lunar lander and reads what you draw. Fly Brain replays a fruit-fly brain in Stellar’s 4-bit arithmetic.
Located in Bangalore, India. Live whenever the board is online.
The chip plays Doom
Every move is chosen by the board: 256 numbers in, one of 16 button combinations out. When it is online, watch a live game of up to 60 seconds; otherwise, earlier games replay frame for frame.

Sugar reaches MN9
Fly Brain 166,700 neurons · 25.6 million connections
Same decision on four-bit synapses
A male fruit fly’s complete nervous system, with every synapse stored the way a Stellar core stores weights. Sugar makes it reach out to feed; bitter makes it hold back, on 4-bit and exact synapses alike. Slowed 40×.
Feeding neuron over time
Neurons firing per 5 ms
MN9 mean firing rate with a 95% bootstrap interval. The 4-bit brain runs 10–40% more excitable than the exact one; the decision is the same.
Mapped onto Stellar
- Weights. Every connection is a signed 4-bit value from −7 to +7, scaled per receiving neuron like Stellar's per-output decoder gain.
- Inputs. Spikes are 0 or 1, which fit Stellar's 4-bit activations exactly.
- Sums. Exact integer accumulation, as an ideal core computes it.
- Compiler. Balanced rounding and a 20-synapse step cap keep each neuron's total excitation and inhibition intact.
